ran across this particular error today. in this instance the error message referenced a “gwmsp1.dll”. turns out the user had remnants of novell groupwise installed on their PC including a GW mail profile.

after creating a new mail profile with autodiscover and setting it as default i was able to delete the old GW profile. after that it worked great. i’d imagine any time this error pops up that something isn’t quite right with your mail profile.

uninstalling/reinstalling the outlook client does not resolve this issue as it’s a system mail profile problem.
