this thought crossed my mind some time ago…since 3389 (default rdp port) is well known that a situation might arise where it would be a good idea to change it.

i did some quick research and it is possible by modifying the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
