outlook 2010: team calendars

in outlook 2010 (possibly 2007 as well?) there’s a calendar group created automatically titled “team: <username>”. this calendar group is only created if the organizational layout of employees has been fleshed out in active directory (relationship between managers and direct reports).

the team calendar(s) can not actually be deleted. if you try to delete it you are really just hiding it from view. to unhide the team calendar(s) go to the Calendar home and choose Calendar Groups and make sure both “Show Team Calendars” and “Show Manager’s Team Calendars” are both checked.

as far as i can tell…there is no way to share a team calendar out or any calendar groups for that matter. so unless you are actually part of the team (the manager or a team member) you will not see this calendar.
