dominos new pizza

when i first saw the commercial about dominos changing their recipe i of course was intrigued…and kind of surprised. it seems like such a major chain would risk a lot by changing their base formula for success. i neither loved nor hated the old recipe, it was just decent average pizza, no strong emotions attached. the old ingredients did seem to be of lesser quality than those of papa johns though.

and of course other people are going to be curious too..so i imagine at least a month or two of way boosted sales. in the long run i hope it works out for them because i’ve tried the pizza and i do think it’s an improvement over the former recipe. it’s much closer to papa johns in apparent quality. there will be people who think otherwise and will hate it, but that’s life.

for instance, when burger king switched over to the new crispy fries i actually missed the old flimsy and soft fries. not that i disliked the new fries i just liked the old ones more.

but anyways it’s good pizza. i miss when dominos used to carry meatball subs.

update: i don’t know why but my local dominos store on like the past 2 occasions has been drowning the pizza with the new zesty garlic butter sauce (which i normally like). to the point where it’s pretty much all i taste and makes the pizza super greasy. whyyyy oh whyyy do you do this.

update 8/3/2010: i ordered the dominos deep dish pizza not too long ago. i remember never really caring for it, but i thought hey they revamped stuff.. maybe it’s different now.  and i also was stupidly thinking it would have more toppings. it does not and it tastes exactly like it did when i had it over 10 years ago. still very dry crust and not enough sauce. do not like.
